RESEARCH
Big DATA Biology
The volume of cumulated biological data is growing exponentially. We believe that the systematic profiling, reorganization and re-analyses of such large-scale available data can lead us to the whole new level of biological understanding. The ultimate goal of our research is to understand complex biological systems and human diseases using integrative Big Data analyses and experimental validations.
Gene Regulation at Transcription Level
Gene regulation is multi-layered complex process involving transcriptional and epigenetic regulations as well as chromosomal 3-D architectures. We work to decipher the comprehensive biological mechanisms underlying gene regulation at the transcriptional level and how the dysregulation of such process is associated with human diseases, by using integrative data analyses.
Chromatin Architecture in Aging
3-D chromatin architecture changes dynamically under a variety of conditions including cell fate determination, differentiation and development. Disorganization of chromatin architecture is associated with various human diseases and is also a hallmark of aging. We study how chromatin architecture changes give rise to the degenerative phenotype with age.
